NSIN’s Successful Year in Spurring Innovators to Action

The National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) released its 2023 Year in Review report highlighting NSIN’s expanding networks of innovators that have generated new solutions for national security issues, particularly developing new dual-use technologies and strengthening the national defense industrial base through critical connections and broad opportunities.

This year’s report showcases another year marked by continued growth and engagement of non-traditional problem solvers.

Entering a new era for defense innovation, Team NSIN bridged the gap between academia, defense technology, and industry leaders to support warfighters and create cutting-edge solutions for national security concerns.

Key NSIN 2023 Year in Review Highlights:

  • Engaged 10,230 new people in the National Security Innovation Base.
  • Supported 1,453 new companies to enter the National Security Innovation Base.
  • Helped 1,145 DoD organizations solve 1,853 problems by generating 2,212 unique solutions.
  • Since 2016, companies in NSIN programs have raised $10.8 billion in private capital funding and $9.9 billion in DoD funding.
