Join DIU and Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) to learn more about the future of defense capabilities and investment opportunities in the defense sector during the first edition of the India-U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X) Gurukul Educational Series. The series is inspired by the ancient Indian tradition of propagating education through learning via experience and through discussions led by enlightened teachers and curious students.

In NSIN’s latest Investor Spotlight, Sean Drake, Founder and Managing Partner of Stony Lonesome Group, spoke about his company’s mission-focused investment thesis and explained what he looks for in dual-use startups when making investment decisions. This edition was facilitated by Marcy Muldrow Sanders, our Regional Engagement Principal for the Florida Panhandle, and is the first in a series that will spotlight investors selected by our Regional Network Team.

NSIN Southeast Regional Director, Beverly Seay, encouraged the higher education community to take chances and lead with curiosity during her closing remarks at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) Foundation Leadership Forum. Bev serves as board chair for AGB, which empowers governing boards to play a strong strategic role in the institutions they serve.

NSIN is a program office in the U.S. Department of Defense, nested within the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). We are set up to collaborate with a wide variety of innovators to include universities, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and start-ups. We create opportunities for collaboration across communities and connect those that might not traditionally work in national security. Together, we help drive national security innovation and develop technologies that directly support the individuals responsible for protecting our country.
