Early-stage, pre-Series A ventures interested in the government market are invited to apply for the 2023 NSIN Vector program. Companies selected for Vector will work with experts from NSIN and the military to develop dual-use technologies and compete for non-dilutive funding. The program is open to ventures from Hawaii, Washington, Kansas, Ohio, and Arizona - where NSIN will place future Mission Acceleration Centers. Vector applications are due Aug. 25.

Companies with extended range sensor system innovations that could enhance environmental awareness and joint force maneuverability for the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (1MDTF) are invited to submit solutions to the NSIN Presents: Extended Range Sensor Challenge for the chance to receive part of $75,000.

NSIN alum Ubicept delivers decision superiority to warfighters through innovative capabilities in computer vision that improve the quality of sensor outputs. With technology that counts individual photons instead of analyzing still frames, Ubicebt is helping organizations perceive more in extreme lighting conditions, capture sharp images of high-speed motion, and even “see” around corners. Ubicept has raised $8 million to attract new talent and expand into several new industries including 3D scanning and industrial automation.

NSIN X-Force Fellows are developing two unique devices for the Marne Innovation Center this summer. One team is building a 3D-printed arm that will be used as a medical training aid, while the second team is creating an electromagnetic spectrum emitter, which is used to replicate a U.S. Army Bradley vehicle.

Texas A&M University College of Engineering students created innovative solutions to real-world DoD problems at Phantom Invents, a collaborative event between the college, NSIN, and the U.S. Army’s III Armored Corps to connect the DoD and academia. The students, some NSIN program alumni, worked alongside soldiers to address Army challenges to radio communications, helicopter towing, and more.

Early-stage ventures interested in the defense sector are invited to apply for NSIN Propel Boston. Selected companies will partner with experts from NSIN, the military, and private industry during the cohort and will work to transition their emerging technology solutions to address the modernization needs of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community and its partners. Applications for the cohort are due Aug. 8.

Registration is now open for the 2023 NSIN Defense Entrepreneurial Symposium. Attendees will learn how NSIN’s programs and services enable businesses to collaborate with the DoD, find business opportunities, and accelerate their growth. In addition, participants will gain insight into the DoD’s strategic imperatives for the defense ecosystem and make meaningful and enduring professional connections with industry and military leaders.

Small businesses may join the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) for the Hyperspace Challenge where they will work on challenges faced by the space industry and have an opportunity to build relationships with potential DoD customers.

Innovators with technologies that have the potential to improve Naval operations, logistics, or decision making may receive SBIR/STTR grants from the Navy. Submissions are due Aug. 15.

|
Startups with technologies supporting energy resilience, secure information sharing, and sensing and surveillance may submit their solutions to the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) for the opportunity to receive €100,000 in the first round of competition. Selected startups will have the opportunity to move on to phase two and compete for up to €300,000 each in additional funding. Submissions are due Aug. 25.

Innovators from industry and academia may submit digital tools that would enable informed, coordinated military movement planning and execution may submit their solutions to NATO for the chance to win part of an $8,500 prize purse. Submissions are due Oct. 5.
