NSIN hosted the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and Department of Defense (DoD) leaders at the Joint Innovation Lab (JIL) on April 13 for a live webinar event to brief the Department's FY24 science and technology budget request and strategic vision for the future of the enterprise. The event drew over 400 online attendees.

SentiAR is improving patient outcomes with its 3D-hologram technology that enables physicians to increase their accuracy and speed during interventional procedures with the help of real-time insights into patient data. With the funds, SentiAR will pursue new partnerships and wider clinical adoption of their technology.

NSIN alumni companies represent six of the 20 small businesses selected as finalists for the Army xTech open-topic prize competition. Out of a record 775 startup submissions to xTech, the NSIN alumni and other finalists have demonstrated the greatest potential for transitioning innovative technologies to help the Army. In the final round, the companies will pitch their technologies to a panel of DoD subject matter experts for potential prize money and an invitation to submit for a potential $250,000 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award.

Bradley Fellowship Adds Defense Innovation Training |
Army officers selected for this year’s Army General Omar N. Bradley Fellowship Program will now have access to have innovation and policy-related training coordinated through an NSIN Bootcamp and Capstone seminar. These new program additions provide fellows the tools to address Army-directed problems. an avenue for submitting solutions directly to Army Headquarters, and a network to support innovation when they return to the operating force.

Apply for the next Foundry cohort for the opportunity to collaborate with federal laboratories to commercialize breakthrough defense technologies and build new companies. Applications are due April 28.

|
Innovate the generation of synthetic (SynGen) training data for military computer vision algorithms. Finalists are eligible for a potential federal funding award of up to $75,000. Applications close May 1.

Work with DoD and government stakeholders like the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate, the premier research organization for command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) and cyber technologies for the U.S. Air Force, in NSIN’s latest accelerator, NSIN Propel New York. Selected companies for the accelerator will have opportunities to test, evaluate, and demonstrate technology for DoD mission partners and venture capitalists. Applications are due May 8.

The U.S. Army xTech Pacific competition offers eligible small businesses from Hawaii, Alaska, and Washington with innovations to help the Army operate across long distances, an opportunity to engage with the DoD, earn prize money, and advance to the xTech accelerator program. Finalists are eligible for part of $800,000 in competition prizes with the potential to advance and earn up to $250,000 in Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awards or $1.9 million in Direct to Phase II SBIR awards.

Innovators with software tools to assess configuration settings to improve interoperability during distributed mission training events may be awarded part of a $100,000 prize purse by Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD). Applications close April 21.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in partnership with the Technology Entrepreneur Center (T-REX), are holding a collider networking event focused on helping small businesses prepare themselves for pursuing federal government contract and award opportunities. This is a hybrid event with an in-person attendance opportunity in St. Louis.

Join the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) for a forum on the importance of cybersecurity in securing intellectual property and protecting the defense supply chain. The event will feature thought leaders from government and industry as they share the latest on DoD security requirements and expectations for the Defense Industrial Base.
