MARCH 6-9, 2023

Join NSIN at two events during the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)’s Pacific Operational Science & Technology (POST) 2023 conference. On the morning of March 7, NSIN Managing Director, Cheryl Ingstad, and NSIN Acting National Operations Director, Jesse Gipe, will participate in the Rapid Prototyping and Expediting Service Delivery panel. In the afternoon, companies selected for the 2023 NSIN Propel Hawaii cohort will showcase their emerging technologies.


NSIN at SXSW

MARCH 10-19, 2023

NSIN Managing Director, Cheryl Ingstad, and other leaders in military and government innovation will explore the future of defense on the Defending Tomorrow: Accelerating Change in Government and Military panel at the Capital Factory during the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference. Meet up with NSIN and our mission partners at SXSW to discover how we can open doors in defense innovation for venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, startups, and military and federal organizations.

Cohort Selected for NSIN Defense Technology Accelerator

The next cohort of early-stage ventures has been chosen for the 2023 NSIN Propel Hawaii Accelerator. Selected from a pool of over 200 applicants, the 12 startups in the cohort will work to develop 5G, autonomous, and other commercial state-of-the-art technologies for the U.S. Navy and its partners in the Pacific Region.

APRIL 28, 2023

NSIN Foundry is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and federal laboratories to commercialize breakthrough defense technologies to solve national security problems. Over the five-month cohort, teams of entrepreneurs will work with leaders on cutting-edge DoD technologies to build new companies with their innovations. Applications close April 28.


NSIN Presents: SynGen Challenge

MAY 1, 2023

Innovate the generation of synthetic (SynGen) training data for military computer vision algorithms. Finalists are eligible for a potential federal funding award of up to $75,000.  Applications close May 1.


FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES 


Follow the NSIN Defense Innovation Funding Opportunities Series on LinkedIn to identify more funding across the defense innovation space.
Innovators with technologies for integrating sets of commodity devices, creating synthetic data sets, or building prototypes of metamaterial antennae may receive Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) grants from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Submissions are due March 7.

Innovators with scientific or technological solutions that address various challenges facing the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, Defense Health Agency, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Microelectronics Activity, or Missile Defense Agency may receive SBIR/STTR grants. Submissions are due March 8. 

DEFENSE INNOVATION EVENTS

MARCH 7, 2023


The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) is hosting a hiring blitz in the Washington, D.C. area on March 18 for applicants interested in geospatial intelligence careers. Job opportunities range in desired level of experience. Job applications and event registrations are due by March 7.

The America’s Future Series National Security Dual-Use Tech Summit offers defense innovators, the investment community, and academic and government leaders the chance to collaborate and increase our nation’s technological competitiveness.

MARCH 13, 2023


High school and undergraduate students interested in engineering may apply for a paid internship as a student trainee with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Army Engineer Research & Development Center (ERDC). As part of the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program, this role is eligible to convert into a full-time position upon completion of the internship. Applications are due March 13.

MARCH 30, 2023


Industry and academia can apply to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to scientists and engineers from the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/RW) during this market research opportunity. On March 30, a panel of technical experts will select 3-5 submissions to deliver a brief presentation to government stakeholders. Submissions to participate in the showcase are due March 8.
