Team NSIN continued rapid growth in FY23 as it connected our nation’s innovators with DoD leaders.

The National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) released its FY23 Annual Report highlighting NSIN’s continued efforts to solve national security problems by connecting innovators with the Department of Defense (DoD).

The accomplishments from NSIN’s team of talented, accomplished, and passionate leaders and mission partners created more dual-use ventures and paired more civilians with DoD partners than ever before.

“As a component of DIU, NSIN continues to build impactful networks of innovators across government, academia, the technology sector and capital sources who generate new solutions to national security and defense problems,” said Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Director Doug Beck. “The collaboration across our teams is essential in achieving our strategic goals to leverage commercial technologies, build domestic and international partnerships, and deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.”

Highlights from NSIN’s FY23 Year in Review:

  • NSIN engaged 10,230 new people in the National Security Innovation Base.
  • NSIN Alumni have now raised $10.8 billion in private capital funding and $9.9 billion in DoD funding since 2016.
  • NSIN helped develop 2,212 unique solutions to military challenges.

During FY23, NSIN and its partnerships developed a growing and consistent network of talented individuals who all have assisted us in solving complex challenges facing national security.
