Early-stage ventures presented the defense applications of their dual-use technologies during the NSIN Propel New York 2023 Demo Day. The companies showcased technologies with the potential to improve resilient basing, moving target engagement, and operationally focused Advanced Battle Management Systems (ABMS) for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate.

Learn how leaders in the public sector are working to spur innovation and reshape the future of government. NSIN Venture Portfolio Director and Director of Enterprise Services Abigail Desjardins, Director of Innovation at the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority Robert Bornhofen, and Entrepreneur-In-Residence at BMNT Sabra Horne will lead the conversation.



OCT. 20, 2023 
Submit innovations for medium- to high-altitude small tactical aerial platforms for extended loitering (STAPEL) to the Space Prototyping and Experimentation Branch at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) for the chance to receive part of $150,000 during our latest challenge, NSIN Presents: Project STAPEL.




OCT. 30, 2023 
Innovators with artificial intelligence (AI)-based large language models that could automate processes such as instructional systems design and requirements development for the Navy’s Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) initiative may register to compete for part of a $160,000 prize purse during the NSIN-supported Ready Relevant Learning Prize Challenge. Attend the virtual information session on Oct. 3 to learn more about the challenge and desired solutions.





NOV. 15, 2023 
Ventures from the 2023 NSIN Foundry and Forge cohorts will pitch dual-use, defense and commercial solutions they created from federal technologies at an upcoming showcase day. The cohort will also compete for cash prizes as they share the spinout ventures they created in front of an audience of investors, government stakeholders, industry experts, and entrepreneurs.




NSIN ALUMNI NEWS

NSIN alum Kayhan Space allows industry and the government to de-risk their operations in space with a traffic management software that autonomously provides satellite operators with the information and tools they need to avoid collisions. With the additional funding, Kayhan Space plans to grow their team and create new relationships with U.S. government customers.

Take part in conversations about maximizing professional opportunities and working to deliver a decisive competitive advantage to the warfighter at the 2023 Women In Defense National Conference.

DEFENSE INNOVATION NEWS

Startups interested in working with DIU can access the organization’s new library of instructional videos for information on topics like DIU’s solicitation processes, the benefits of working with DIU, and additional resources to support defense technology ventures.

Innovators with an on-gimbal, bistatic beam director for laser weapon systems (LWS) that could reduce the size, weight, and power (SWaP) of these systems may submit their solutions to  Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for the opportunity to receive Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding.

Small businesses with the ability to provide rapid, effective cybersecurity training to address the skills gap in the cybersecurity workforce may submit their solutions to DARPA for the opportunity to receive STTR funding.
